These were inspired by the warm, sweet and spicy star anise; used for centuries in medicine, cooking and spiritual practices, it’s one of my favourite seed pods and flavours. I sand cast real seed pods in brass; not only is every seed pod completely unique, the resultant casting outcome has a magical unpredictability meaning even ‘pairs’ are different and casting can often be incomplete. These earrings are comprised of some sturdy sterling silver hoops, hand formed and designed to either be worn alone, or with their charms attached. The casting textures are emphasised with high shine areas giving these a wonderfully starry sparkle that can see you from “office to ooooh go on then” this festive season.
Internal hoop diameter, approx 1.5cm, total drop height including charm approx 3.5cm.
Made from brass and sterling silver. Brass will patina over time depending on your wearing habits but can easily be restored to shiny at home. Please take a look at Materials & Care to make sure this piece is right for you.
